I bought a Xbox game from Ebay and found it to be fake. What should I do?
In good faith I bought a Xbox 360 game at auction on EBAY. When the goods arrived I found the game to be a fake copy. Should I send the game to the distributor to get them to authenticate the game? Needless to say I have learnt an important lesson.
The best thing to do would be to tell the seller that you know the game is fake. Ask them what they plan to do about it, and hopefully, you used Paypal, especially if the seller doesn’t respond. Paypal allows you to file a claim with them. You will have to ship the item back and prove that you shipped it back (use Delivery Confirmation) and then you will get a refund with Paypal. Do not ship the game back without opening a dispute with Paypal because you may not get your refund then (something I’ve heard). However, even if the seller refuses to pay, if you used Paypal, they will take the money from that seller’s account. Also, open a dispute on Ebay. Then, once that is all taken care of, leave the seller negative feedback. If you haven’t paid through Ebay, there is a good chance you won’t get your money back if they are a scam artist.
